Get the Look – Rustic Vintage

Get the Look - Rustic Vintage

When travelling, I always enjoy spending a day poking around in vintage shops and galleries. Design often varies regionally, and I am frequently inspired by seeing things in a different context or from a fresh perspective. When I see the “bones” of something I like, it gives me a focal point for creating my own look. I loved the casual rustic vibe of this space and, while I love the palette, for summer I’d add color to keep it bright. So I went shopping online.  I started with my favorite rustic finds from Vintage and Main, and added a few more items I just couldn’t resist to complete my look.

Having a main style in mind when re-decorating your space can keep you focused on your search for the perfect items.  But don’t feel pressured to only buy that style!  More than half the fun of decorating with vintage is that you can mix and match decades and styles to really make your space your own.

  1. Yes! When we first bought our Victorian house I wanted to decorate only with Victorian era finds. I have since come around to mixing up vintage decades and find it a lot more fun!

  2. Lots of Great ideas for creating a rustic vintage look in this super mix of items. I do agree with Martha above that mixing vintage ‘eras’ makes a much more interesting and richer look and this posting shows that!

Thank you, Marilyn and Kate for another superb Blog posting!
