Coffee First, Then The World

I cannot describe how important coffee is to my life – it’s my morning fuel, a reward for accomplishing tasks, a way to unwind with my loved ones, and as essential as a full tank of gas before a long drive. Now that summer is in full swing for those of us in the Northern hemisphere, I find myself longing for that perfect iced coffee. The Pioneer Woman has my go-to recipe, which time and again has helped me stock my fridge full with carafes of black gold. It has literally changed my life, not to mention saved me hundreds of dollars on take away coffee. But once you’ve reached coffee-brewing nirvana, you’ll want to be fully stocked on the tools of the trade for maximum coffee enjoyment.

I love how individual one’s coffee pot style can be. Whether it’s an ornate heirloom that has been passed down through the generations or a sleek new minimalist piece from Ikea, each home generally only has one coffee pot for all of their coffee needs. Sitting down with a friend for a cup o’ joe can become a special occasion if served from a conversation-worthy piece! What does your coffee pot say about your style?

Perhaps you’re ready to enjoy a soothing mug of coffee in the quiet of your home – a good spring clean out recently left me with some much-needed space in my dish cabinet, and I treated myself to a pair of gorgeous handmade mugs by Little E Pottery. I find myself more thoughtful and positive when enjoying a drink out of a particularly loved mug, and the possibilities for a fun vessel are quite endless.

If you should find yourself moving, doing a clean out, or just eager for a small living space upgrade this summer, the coffee table is the ideal candidate for a switch-a-roo. Often found cheap at flea markets and tag sales, frequently small enough to fit into a car or be carried home, coffee tables pack a lot of bang for their design buck – and where else are you going to set your coffee down?

What’s your favorite caffeinated (or decaf!) summertime drink treat?

  1. It’s hard to live without coffee! Our coffee pot is a vintage teapot that we use with a ceramic cone – it works great.

  2. LOVE coffee! Our coffee pot is a Keurig, convenient for making one cup and not wasting coffee, but I really miss the aroma of coffee as it slowly brews the old-fashioned way. Love the items featured here!

  3. Coffee is a sacred ritual for me as well, drunk from a collection of vintage mugs and stirred with coin silver spoons, monogrammed with names like Bessie and Harry and Aurelia. Some have said that I’m not my charming self until after that first cup. Imagine!

Your beautifully curated post pays homage to one of my most savored parts of the day. Thank you!

  4. One of my favorite things in the world is coffee. It is the first thing I think of upon awaking :)). I drink it morning, noon and night – as it is nectar of the gods.
Thank you so much – great posts with fabulous finds.
